A civic service with thanksgiving for the life of the Duke of Edinburgh will take place at Birmingham Cathedral at 6pm, and will be live streamed on YouTube.

Also at 6pm, people from across the city will gather at Coventry Cathedral for a special service.

The service will be attended by just 30 people, due to Government guidelines, but is available live on Facebook, and by phone on 024 76939700

The High Sheriff of the West Midlands; a representative of the Multi-Faith Forum; and recipients of the Duke of Edinburgh award, will be among those attending.

Canon Kathryn Fleming says it's a ceremony for all: "It's very much the city coming together, although it is a Christian service, we recognise that we are a diverse city and we would like everyone to feel that they have a space and a stake in the service of course.

Worcester Cathedral are also hosting a service of prayer in memory of the Duke of Edinburgh this afternoon.

The service will be attended by just 30 people, due to Government guidelines; but can be watched on Worcester Cathedral Facebook page from 3pm. https://www.facebook.com/WorcesterCathedral/

Dean Peter Atkinson says it will be a simple ceremony "It's not a memorial service in the traditional sense.

"It's a service of prayer for the Duke of Edinburgh, to which we have invited people representing the civic and community life of Worcestershire."

The Duke of Edinburgh and the Queen last visited Worcester Cathedral in 2012.
