King's Lynn's Night Shelter is opening its doors again tonight (29 October)

It was blessed by the Bishop of Lynn in a special ceremony ahead of giving rough sleepers shelter when they need it most.

This year, the shelter has moved into a new home at the old vicarage by St John's Church, in Blackfriars Road.

Lucy McKitterick from the shelter says they hope it will be a calm and welcoming place for people.

She said:

"It was a vicarage in the 1870s until last year and it's a huge Victorian house with big rooms and high ceilings.

"We're really pleased to be here and we think it will be a calm and welcoming home for people and a sanctuary for people who have been sleeping rough on the street.

"There's going to be a lot of things around how we make sure guests are keeping a safe distance from each other and that the cleaning is up to standard."
