We should be finding out whether Norfolk's tier will be changing later today.

The county is currently in tier two, meaning we're on 'high alert', and seeing restrictions on meeting people indoors and only being able to purchase alcohol with a substantial meal.

But the government review into the restrictions is expected to be revealed today, which could see the county put into tier three, with the toughest restrictions.

The current rate of infection in Norfolk stands at 111.4 per 100,000, which is below the average rate, according to the Office for National Statistics.

Norfolk County Council's leader has warned we must all stick to the rules if we want to see the county placed back into tier two.

Cllr Andrew Proctor said:

"The changes in the overall infection rate aren't great over the last couple of weeks, so what we can safely say is let's keep to the rules that we have to follow. If we can keep doing that, we can make sure we get down from tier two as soon as we possibly can.

"The data is going to drive the number and we've got to respect that.

"That being said, we are meeting with officials from the Department for Health and Social Care on a regular basis to understand the drivers for this."

In Norfolk, cases have begun to rise again after coming out of the second lockdown, although the rise has been small.

Dr Louise Smith said:

"Our numbers in Norfolk are no longer decreasing. There is an early hint of the numbers are starting to go up. At best, our numbers are stable as we look at them."
