Following the death of HRH The Prince Philip, The Duke of Edinburgh on Friday (9 April), West Norfolk is remembering him.
The 99-year-old had strong connections with the area, through the Sandringham Estate, where he spent much of his time after retiring from public duties in 2017.
Although Covid-19 restrictions have placed limitations on the way people can pay their respects, there are several opportunities in west Norfolk for people to remember His Royal Highness Prince Philip.
Tributes to His Royal Highness The Duke of Edinburgh
King's Lynn Minster will be open daily between 8am and 6pm for private prayer and lighting a candle in memory of Prince Philip. Floral tributes can be placed in the churchyard to the left of the church door.

Civic Service
A service in commemoration of His Royal Highness Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, will take place on Friday, 16 April 2021, at 6pm at King's Lynn Minster. This is a ticketed event, and limited places will be made available shortly through Eventbrite, allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. The event will be streamed live to enable those unable to attend to watch at home.
Books of condolence
In accordance with public health advice, members of the public are asked to continue to follow the current Government guidance, not to gather in crowds, and not to visit Royal residences to pay their respects.
There is an e-book of condolence on the Royal.uk website. Alternatively you can send your condolences to the Civics Office, The Town Hall, King’s Lynn, PE30 5DQ.
During this time the Royal Family ask that members of the public consider making a donation to a charity instead of leaving floral tributes in memory of The Duke of Edinburgh. The Royal website has a list of The Duke of Edinburgh’s patronages and charities.
