We wanted to grant wishes for four amazing children at Christmas in 2013! With help from Simplyhealth and Mears, we suceeded in granting those wishes.

Harvey, Brandon and Sophie (aged 6, 7 and 10 years)

Harvey, Brandon and Sophie's mother passed away at the age of 26 at Christmas in 2012. When their mother passed away, the children all found it extremely traumatic and even now a year on they struggle. The children are now cared for by their maternal grandmother, who in turn struggles with three grieving young children & is also grieving for her daughter.

Whilst their mother was ill, she was cared for by the Macmillan nurses, and her nurse Elaine nominated the family for a Christmas Wish to go see a Pantomine and have a Pizza.

Together with Simplyhealth & Mears, we granted their wish and we are sending them to London for the weekend! They will stay in a swanky London hotel, go to see a show at a theatre and have a meal out.

Kendal Middleton Jessop (aged 3 years)

Kendal suffers from an aggresive form of cancer called Neuroblastoma. Kendal and her family and friends have been fundraising to raise awareness of Neuroblastoma and raise funds for the appeal.

Kendal's aunties Kelly and Adele nominated Kendal for a wish, however, Kendal's wish is to organise a party for all her supporters to say thank you for the hard work and dedication.

We have agreed to grant Kendal's wish by putting on a Fireman Sam themed party (Fireman Sam is Kendal's favourite cartoon/tv character), with entertainment and food.

Michael Windross (aged 16 years)

Michael was diagnosed with Kidney failure when he was 15. It was a shock to him and the whole family, who have had a turbulant 6 months. Michael is now undergoing dialysis for 8 hours each day & had to give up playing football, which was his favourite sport and hobby. Michael's mum now stays at home to care for him, and his dad has had to have a great deal of time off work. His other 4 brother and sisters have also suffered.

Michael's neighbour Julie got in touch with Cash for Kids to tell us about him. She explained that friends and family have been fundraising for the family, to be able to give them cash towards a "treat". Julie explained that the family haven't had a holiday, and that would be their wish.

We wanted to ensure that the whole family got a break and are granting their wish, by giving them all a holiday to Spain with tickets to see Barcelona football team play a match!

Faith Cooper (aged 2 years)

Faith was diagnosed with Parkinsons Disease mid 2013. Her mother gave up work to care for Faith and her older brother Tristan. They live with their grandmother who supports them, but they have little funds to enjoy a day out as a family.

Faith's grandmother's friend Dana, nominated the family for a Christmas wish. She explained that it would be lovely for them all to spend a day out together, doing things that other families may take for granted. Faith loves Disney & especially Disney Princesses.

With the help of Simplyhealth and Mears, we granted their wish and secured tickets for Peter Pan at the Leeds Arena. We also provided an overnight stay at the Park Plaza Leeds, and dinner at Nandos.
