Haworth Riding for the Disabled Group - £400 Haworth Riding was founded in 2001 with the purpose of using horse riding and horse related activities to provide disabled people with therapy, recreation, educational development and sporting opportunities. They operate 7 days a week and have 160 registered riders (85%) children, 45 active volunteers (79% children), 10 specially trained horses and a full portfolio of activities. Cash for Kids are funding the kit for the disabled community with learning disabilities to participate in the Special Olympics 2017 which will build the confidence, self-esteem and skill levels and has a positive impact on health and well-being for the young children.

KidspirationChildcare and Education Ltd - £721.89 Kidspiration is located in Farnley, Leeds, where they provide warmth, happiness, reliability and also support to all the families if needed. Cash for Kids are funding for new outdoor toys which have been used for over 3 years and are looking old and worn. The is a great advantage as most of the children don’t have a garden and are unable to play outside which will enable the children to flourish when they are there learning and developing as children.

Boy Aged 5 c/o Home-Start – £159.79 Home-Start contacted Cash for Kids to assist with a young boy who has severe Asthma and Eczema.

The Friends Of Phoenix Special School - £755.27 The Friends of Phoenix Special School provide stay & play days and staffed day trips for children & families to access activities they are normally excluded from due to their physical disabilities and special needs. Cash for Kids are funding new play equipment to replace the old toys which are over 7 years old. The play scheme supports these children who could not access normal mainstream play centres.

Star Bereavement Support Service - £3000 Star Bereavement Support Service work proactively to support children, young people and their families, guiding them in their journey through grief, helping them to cope with the devastation this can bring and supporting them to move forward in life. Cash for Kids are funding support for 10 children and young people in the Wakefield area.

Bradford Hospitals Charity - £1250 Bradford Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust has approximately 6,000 babies and children in hospital and in their out-patient facilities. Some of these children have complex health needs and these items would be of great benefit to them, particularly those with additional needs in the CDC. Cash for Kids are funding bright and interactive toys which will enrich the child’s experience. Allowing the children to play gives a sense of normality and helps reduce anxieties too.

Girl Aged 10 - £450 Cash for Kids are funding 30 sessions of hyperbaric oxygen therapy.

The Well Project - £600 The Well Project is a Community centred charity and provides opportunities and positive activities for the whole community. They run five youth clubs per week attracting over 60 young people. Cash for Kids are funding craft and sports equipment which will teach children new skills for life, give them confidence in their abilities, will improve their lifestyles and social cohesion within the community.

Boy Aged 3 - £178 Children’s Social Work applied to Cash for Kids to help with funding for a young child’s bed.

Boy Aged 14 - £600 Signpost Family Intervention Service applied to Cash for Kids to provide much needed support therapy for Boy aged 14.

Sunshine & Smiles – Leeds Down Syndrome Network - £1500 Sunshine & Smiles is the only specific support network in Leeds for young children & young people who have Down Syndrome and their families. They offer a wide range of groups and activities including Speech & Language Therapy, football sessions, swimming & age specific social and recreational activities. They would like to develop a community interest company that will generate revenue such as creating a community café and garden. Cash for Kids are funding raised beds for their garden to create area to develop a community garden for growing vegetables as well as screening to cover metal fencing to make their garden more private and a more pleasant environment.

Barca-Leeds - £621.24 Barca-Leeds support children facing multiple difficulties including poor mental health, risk of criminal activity and those impacted by parental substance misuse and domestic abuse. Cash for Kids are funding resources which will provide families with the tools and skills to support the emotional well-being of the children, to form secure family attachments and increase resilience.
