Tomorrow's Bristol City match, when the Robins take on Leeds United at Ashton Gate, is set to remember the 'two lives needlessly lost' last weekend, after a double murder in Bristol.

Five days since the attack, the community remain in shock at the incident, with many coming together in support of the family and friends of the two teenagers who lost their lives.

In the early hours of Sunday morning (28 Janaury), 15-year-old Mason Rist and 16-year-old Max Dixon died in a fatal stabbing in the Knowle West area of the city.

Yesterday (31 January), detectives at Avon and Somerset Police confirmed 44-year-old Anthony Snook, from Hartcliffe in Bristol was charged with their murders.

He appeared before Magistrates today to only confirm his name - and is due to appear at Bristol Crown Court tomorrow (February 2nd).

Officers say seven other people had been arrested in connection with the investigation.

Two 15-year-old boys, a 16-year-old boy and a 22-year-old man have been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A 46-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to murder, while a 26-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

The force said a 20-year-old man had been arrested on suspicion of murder and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.

He has since been released with no further action in relation to the murder offence and bailed in relation to the offensive weapon offence.

In a statement, the Robins said: "Everyone at Bristol City and across the Bristol Sport Group was extremely saddened to hear about the tragic deaths of teenagers Mason Rist and Max Dixon.

"There will be a fan-led applause from the 15th to the 17th minute of Friday’s game against Leeds United in memory of two young lives so needlessly lost.

"We send our deepest condolences to Mason and Max’s families and friends, and our thoughts are with everybody in our community affected by this tragedy."
