Further travel disruption expected across West Yorkshire following Bradford tyre fire

People are being advised to avoid travelling through the area as fire crews are still at the scene on Upper Castle Street.

Firefighters are still at the scene of a huge scrap tyre fire near Bradford Interchange station, which caused travel chaos yesterday morning.

People in West Yorkshire are being advised to avoid the area and expect travel disruption if travelling in or out of Bradford.

West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue have confirmed 9 fire engines and 2 aerial appliances are still at the scene this morning (17/11). They are also continuing to advise residents nearby to keep their windows and doors closed.

Northern says passengers travelling between Leeds and Bradford should use Bradford Forster Square which remains unaffected.

Emergency services are still advising all residents in East Bowling to keep their windows and doors shut.
