In the run up to Valentine's Day Swizzels make a massive 750 million Love Hearts so they did a bit of research into dating etiquette.
They found that these days 73% of women aged between 18-24 would rather split the bill than let their date pay for it, whilst men are more traditional with 67% thinking they should pay for it.

2052 people across the UK were asked 23 questions regarding their dating and relationship etiquette on behalf of Swizzels, the makers of Love Hearts.
