For some of us she's more than a mum, she's our best friend!

Author: Laura Thornton

Sunday 10th March is Mother's Day here in the UK and, although this is a great chance to show your mum or mother figure just how much you care and appreciate her, we know there are some of you out there whose mum is their best friend too!

Are you and you mum BFFs (best friends forever)? Scroll through our list below and see how many of these that you can relate to...

Things you'll know when your mum is your best friend:

1. She's brutally honest and you LOVE it

Your new hair colour? The new person you're dating? That new job opportunity? You might not agree, or want to hear it, but she'll be sure to let you know... And one day you will thank her for it.

2. You're really alike...

Over time you start to notice that you not only start to resemble your mum, but your mannerisms and the way you deal with situations start to remind you a lot of her too!

3. She's your top fan on social media

Sometimes when you post something on social media, it isn't as popular as you think it might be. Never fear, if your mum is your best friend, she'll give it a like. Thanks for always making me look popular Ma!

4. She taught you all your best dance moves

When you discover that your timings are impeccable, your moves are sharp, and you were made to partner your mum on Strictly Come Dancing.

5. She's the first one you phone in a crisis or for a happy moment

No matter what time of day (or night) it is, when you pick up the phone, she will always happily sit and chat with you.

6. You love spending time with her

When you have the choice between a night out... or a glass of wine and a film with your mum, you instantly know which one you would prefer.

7 . You love her stories and she loves yours!

Whether it's stories about your childhood (even the embarrassing ones), or what the neighbours are up to, or the adventures she once went on, mum truly does have the best stories that you love to listen to.

8. She's got your back

In everything you do, your mum will always be your main supporter, groupie and cheerleader. Secretly, it makes you happy to know you make her proud.
