Footballer Marcus Rashford, who's recently been campaigning for an end to child food poverty, has hit back at Thirsk and Malton's MP on Twitter.

Kevin Hollinrake MP was asked on Twitter if it was the government's job to make a stand for the hungry children in our society, he replied "Where they can, it’s a parents job to feed their children".

But that prompted a response from the England and Manchester United football star, who urged him to 'talk to families before tweeting'.

As of Sunday lunchtime, just two hours after he tweeted it, Rashford's response to Mr Hollinrake had been 'liked' by over 70,000 Twitter users.
