A North Yorkshire man says he's "heartbroken" after failing to break two skateboarding world records at Elvington Airfield. Yesterday he attempted to break the Guinness World Record for the furthest distance travelled on a skateboard in 12 hours and 24 hours. However torrential rain and a hamstring injury meant he didn't quite make it: "At the end of the day it wasn't really about breaking records, it was more about raising the profile and the awareness and the funds for the charities that I had chosen, which were all affiliated with mental health. That's what yesterday was all about really, raising awareness for mental health and inspiring people, and hopefully if it's done that for one person then my job is done."

Despite not being able to skateboard into the record books this time, Ryan says he isn't giving up: "This isn't the end, it's just the beginning, I'm going to the hospital to get my hamstring sorted out, I'm going to heal and then we will look at doing this again, sometime in the near future."
