New figures have brought some good news about coronavirus infection rates in York.

They show the city has the lowest infection rate of any of the 21 areas in Yorkshire and the Humber.

York's rate stands at 171.9 cases per 100,000 people, down slightly from 192.8.

While York has seen a drop in it's rate, many parts of Yorkshire have seen an increase.

Scarborough, Bradford and Kirklees all have rates of well over 500 cases per 100,000 people and are among the top 10 in England.

Hull was found to have the highest rate in all of England, at 776.4 cases per 100,000 people.
