The Travelling Pantomime is performing across all 21 wards in York during the festive period.

The socially distanced production opens today (Wednesday 2nd December) and runs until the 23rd of December.

Executive Director Tom Bird said: “Our Travelling Pantomime will be a rip-roaring Christmas treat for the whole family. Audiences can expect hilarity and chaos, music and magic as our amazing actors visit every corner of York.”

Audiences will have a say in which of three of the most popular pantomime titles they want to see - Dick Whittington, Jack and the Beanstalk or Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs.

Actress Faye Campbell is playing the role of The Hero. She told Greatest Hits Radio York: "It's been a difficult year for everyone, so I think we need to finish the year off with something exciting.

"It'll mean so much to people. We're incredibly fortunate to be still performing as a theatre group. It'll be so refreshing and gives us hope that more theatres could open up soon.

"We're filming it this week as well, so people who don't live in York can get to watch it as well!"
