Everybody has talking about Whitby's Lioness football star Beth Mead.

The 27 year-old, who is from Hinderwell, scored a hat trick against Norway on Monday in the Euros.

We have been finding out more about her and discovered she worked in a pub in Staithes.

Irene Ward owns the Fox and Hounds and said: "Beth came to us in 2011 for a job, she would have been around 15 years-old and she stayed with us for four years, working first of all as a waitress and then obviously when she was 18, she wanted to go behind the bar.

"She was good. She was really good at her job and very, very reliable. Her football was everything to her. She really did want football.

"She was really good at her job and people liked her. They really got on well with her and even now, people are asking after her. A lot of people come in and say 'how's Beth doing? Have you heard anything? What's she up to?'

"Everybody's really, really proud of her. She's done remarkably well and we sponsored her a little bit at the start, with other people probably. I think it was odd to her but obviously now she doesn't need much help."
