The MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey says he's backing new measures being brought in for travellers coming into the UK.

Anyone who lies about coming from a Coronavirus hotspot could face ten years in jail, or a £10,000 fine.

The government's been criticised for being too harsh.

Former Supreme Court judge, Justice Lord Sumption says it's "inhumane" that sex offenders are dealt with more leniently.

But Kevin Hollinrake supports the idea:

"I've often made the case for more strict restrictions and if we're going to have restrictions we might as well really clamp down on this and real deterrents against people not complying - in terms of supervision, as well as fines".
