Five people rescued after being cut off by tide on the Yorkshire Coast
Emergency services were called out yesterday between Cayton Bay and Filey Brigg
Emergency services have rescued five people cut off by the tide on the Yorkshire Coast.
Both boats from Filey RNLI were launched at around 3.55pm on yesterday (Wednesday 18th August) between Cayton Bay and Filey Brigg.
Five people were on the rocks near Brewster's Hole. Three were rescued from the base of the cliff. But, the RNLI says in view of the 'heavy running swell and location of dangerous rock formations', it was decided with the Coastguard that the remaining two people would be winched up the cliff instead.
Filey RNLI says everyone was safely recovered.
