We're hearing how nurses in York and North Yorkshire are concerned they might not be able to make it to work today, due to the on-going fuel situation.

That comes from the Royal College of Nursing.

The queues at forecourts are easing, although it's still thought it's "highly likely" troops will still be needed to help deliver fuel.

Operational Manager for Yorkshire and the Humberside at the RCN is Dr Stephanie Aiken.

Speaking to Greatest Hits Radio, she said:

"Nurses have already been incredibly challenged over the last 18 months and many are feeling very de-moralised. This is another issue and another barrier to ensuring the retention of our nursing and care workforce.

"Health and care workers need to be a priority at the pumps, because they work in a safety-critical way and if they aren't able to attend work, or they're late for work, patient care will be compromised."
