Man rescued from quarry near Scarborough

The victim had fallen at the site in Forge Valley.

A man's been rescued after falling in a disused quarry near Scarborough.

It happened just after 8pm yesterday, at Forge Valley.

Scarborough and Ryedale Mountain Rescue Team was called to the scene by Yorkshire Ambulance.

Two ambulance crews were on site treating the man when they arrived and requested assistance to clear vegetation from the scene, transfer him to one of their vacuum mattresses, casualty bag and bell stretcher and then carry him to the waiting ambulance.

After treatment in the ambulance, he was transferred by road to the air ambulance.

The rescue took around 2 hours and 15 minutes.
