Police appeal after a motorcyclist is seriously injured near Whitby

Witnesses to the crash on Tuesday (30th April) are urged to come forward

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a collision on the A171 at Ugthorpe in Whitby.

It happened shortly after at 4pm on Tuesday (30 April) and involved a silver Volkswagen Caddy and a motorcycle.

The rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The road was closed for five hours while officers investigated the scene and to allow the vehicles involved to be recovered.

Police are now appealing for any witnesses to the collision, anyone who may have seen the vehicles prior to the collision, or anyone with relevant dashcam footage, to contact us.
