The Haematology and Oncology Chemotherapy Services is returning to Scarborough Hospital's Chemotherapy Unit.

That is according to York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, who says it will come back from Monday 7th September.

It said:

"Please be advised that if you are currently coming for anti-cancer treatment (chemotherapy) our services are returning to the Macmillan chemotherapy unit on the main Scarborough Hospital site, from the 7 September 2020.

"Arriving for your appointment

"When you arrive at Scarborough Hospital please phone the department on 01723 342447 before your appointment time to inform them of your arrival. In order to meet social distancing guidelines (which remains at 2 metres within a healthcare setting) our waiting areas are now very limited.

"You will be asked to go to the North Entrance where a member of staff will meet you and escort you to the chemotherapy unit. Please attend the appointment on your own, do not bring anyone else with you. If you require a relative to bring you to hospital, they may take you to the North Entrance but then must wait for you in the car, or outside the hospital building on foot (maintaining a social distance of two metres at all times).

"If you need a carer to bring you, please phone 01723 342447 prior to your appointment.

"A one way system will operate in the department to support social distancing – clear signage will be in place to guide you.

"If you have any concerns with regard your appointment, please telephone 01723 342447."
