Saint Catherine’s say they're delighted to announce that the Sunrise Walk 2020 has raised £20,000 for patient care.

The ever-popular event, which takes place every September and attracts hundreds of walkers, had to be reimagined this year due to COVID restrictions.

Instead of a group event in Scarborough, the charity asked supporters to do their own Sunrise Walks, with family and friends, on a day of their choice during September.

Susan Stephenson, communications and marketing manager, said:

“The response we received was amazing, with over 200 people signing up to take part. We had no idea what it would raise, as this was a first for Saint Catherine’s, but to raise £20,000 is just incredible. The amount is similar to that raised in previous years, so we were all blown away by the support.

“We are absolutely thrilled with the response and would like to thank each and every person who took part for making the Sunrise Walk 2020 such a great success.

“A special thank you goes to the Harbour Bar, who continued their long-standing support of the event by offering every participant a free ice cream or drink – which we know all our participants really appreciated!”
