The MP for Thirsk, Malton and Filey, Kevin Hollinrake, says it was RIGHT for North Yorkshire's Police Crime and Fire Commissioner to resign, after comments he made about the murder of Sarah Everard.

After saying he wouldn't stand down, Philip Allott eventually did so yesterday, after a vote of no confidence in him by the county's Crime Panel.

It relates to him saying 'women needed to be more streetwise' in light of Sarah's killing and claiming 'she should not have submitted to her arrest', by serving Met Police Officer Wayne Couzens, who has now been jailed for the rest of his life.

Kevin has been criticised on social media, after re-tweeting Mr Allott's apology.

He says that DOESN'T mean he was defending him.
