David Beckham hits back at critics who slammed him for kissing his daughter
Becks has hit back!
Former footballer David Beckham has hit back at some harsh online trolls who criticised him for kissing his five-year-old daughter on the lips.
David, who shares Harper Seven with his wife Victoria, uploaded the snap to his Instagram account last month and received some negative abuse including some trolls calling the photo 'disgusting', 'wrong' and 'weird'.
The dad-of-four has now responded to the critics during a Facebook Live video on his account.
Admitting himself and Victoria are both always very affectionate towards their children, David said, "I got actually criticised for kissing my daughter on the lips the other day. I kiss all my kids on the lips.
"Brooklyn, maybe not. Brooklyn’s 18, he might find that a little bit strange. But I'm very affectionate with the kids. It's how I was brought up and Victoria, and it’s how we are with our children.
"We want to show our kids love and we protect them, look after them, and support them, and we’re very affectionate with them."
David's wife Victoria has received similar criticism in the past for giving her daughter a kiss. The former Spice Girls star posted a photo of herself kissing Harper to celebrate her birthday last year.
The photo received thousands of comments, with some going as far as calling them lesbians.
Parents across the world came out in support for Victoria by sharing photos of themselves kissing their children on their own social media accounts.
Harper Seven is David and Victoria's fourth child together, they also share three boys, Romeo, Cruz and eldest son Brooklyn.
The couple welcomed Harper Seven into the world on July 10th 2011, with the youngster due to celebrate her sixth birthday next week.
As well as hitting back at critics during his Facebook Live video, David also gushed about being a father. He said, "Having children is the most special thing in the world."
