Liam and Cheryl announce birth of baby with cute picture

The pair are officially parents!

It’s the news Cheryl and Liam Payne fans all over the world have been waiting for and now it’s official! Cheryl has given birth to her first child, a baby boy!

The news was confirmed by proud dad Liam in a super cute Instagam post.

He wrote, "My close friends and family know there are very few times when I'm left speechless... wow!"

"I'm incredibly happy to welcome our new baby boy into the world, it's a moment that I will never forget for the rest of my life and my favourite memory I have so far."

I'm completely in awe of his incredible mother and how she has been the whole way through this, she's really made my dreams come true. We haven't named him yet but he's already capturing hearts including mine. I feel very blessed."

New mum Cheryl also shared the same snap revealing her son was born on Wednesday 22nd March, weighing 7lb 9. The former Girls Aloud star added the little one doesn't yet have a name but both parents are 'madly in love' with him.

She wrote, "On Wednesday 22nd March Liam and I became parents to an incredibly beautiful, healthy baby boy, weighing 7lb 9 and looking like a dream. Although he still doesn't have a name he is already stealing hearts. We are all madly in love and overwhelmingly happy with our little arrival. Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers around the world. A day that now has a different meaning to me forever 💙"

Despite rumours spreading like wildfire throughout Cheryl’s nine-month pregnancy, the pair only officially confirmed the news they were expecting back in February when Cheryl shared a shot of herself cradling her bump.

The photo was part of a combined campaign between The Princes Trust and L'Oreal and featured a number of celebrities inlcuding Helen Mirren, Katie Piper and former X Factor winner Louisa Johnson.

After this, both Cheryl and Liam went quiet on their social media accounts, with some fans thinking the pair had already welcomed their little one.

Way back in September, the baby rumours first started when Liam changed his Twitter bio to ‘Luckiest man in the world'.

Cheryl’s mum Joan was then spotted buying pregnancy goods in Mothercare, fueling the rumours even further.

A month later in October, Cheryl attended the L'Oréal Gold Obsession party with what looked like a ‘small bump’. Bookies then suspended bets that the former Girls Aloud star was expecting after describing the snaps as ‘self-explanatory’.

Cheryl then appeared on The One Show to talk about her work for the charity Childline, and fans took to Twitter to praise the star for her ‘glowing’ appearance.

It was perhaps the end of November when people really started to believe the celebrity couple were expecting their first child. Cheryl and Liam attended the Quintessentially Foundation’s Annual Fayre of St James’ Church, which held a charity concert for her charity Cheryl’s Trust.

Wearing a tight fitting green dress with an open black coat, it seemed like Cheryl was more than happy to show of her growing ‘bump’.

Things all went a little quiet for the pair until Cheryl’s hairdresser posted a behind the scenes video of Cheryl, which clearly showed off her bump.

Hairdresser Wendy Iles' video panned around the studio where Cheryl could be seen standing in front of a white screen as the photographer adjusted her tight fitting black dress.

So there you have it, they’ve kept us waiting but now it’s official!
