He's become incredibly popular over the last few years, so when Rylan Clark-Neal announced he'd be taking a break from his role on This Morning, viewers were left very unhappy.

But good news! The former X Factor contestant has now delighted fans of the show by announcing his return to the famous sofa.

Taking to his Twitter account, Rylan shared a video of This Morning's live event and wrote, 'Guess who’s back. See you at @TMLiveEvent @thismorning . See you there #TmLive x' sic

Although Rylan's tweet was predominantly about the This Morning live event, a TV insider has revealed Rylan could be back in his showbiz reporter role by next month, admitting he was 'always going to return'.

Fans were quick to welcome his return, with many buzzing that he's coming back to the show.

Back in December, Rylan announced he was leaving the ITV daytime show when he told show hosts Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, "I've not really said anything but after Christmas, next Friday, I'm going to be going away for a little bit.

"It's definitely not goodbye but I'm going to be taking a little bit of a break for a little bit in the new year. But I just want to say thank you because it's been lovely and I will be back. I will be back."

After a number of news outlets had reported Rylan decided to leave This Morning for false reasons, the 29-year-old chose to set the record straight.

Revealing he isn't terminally ill, having a baby or getting a divorce, Rylan admitted he needed to leave the show to give his head, body and peace of mind a rest.

He also went on to reveal that because he is self employed, he isn't entitled to any holiday leave, which he believes is a "big risk" for an individual who works within the television industry.

At the time of his exit, Rylan denied rumours he'd been sacked. Taking to Twitter the presenter wrote, 'Rumours in press why I’m ‘leaving’ or been ‘axed’ from @thismorning . Truth is I need a break. I’ve been working constantly for 5 years and I need some time to myself.

'I will still be at Big Bro. I just need to take some time to myself. That’s all. I’ll be back soon xxx'. sic

After receiving backlash, Rylan deleted the tweet and replaced it by saying, 'WHEN YOU PIT A NICE LITTLE TWEET UP AND PEOPLE PIPE UP..... I’ll just keep it simple....... I’ve not been sacked from @thismorning just having some time off that’s all. Night'. sic

Although no official date has been set for Rylan's return, it looks like his decision is very popular!
