Samuel L. Jackson gives us his tips on successful marriage

The highest grossing actor of all time has been married 37 years

Samuel L. Jackson's told us he 'must be doing something right' when it comes to his relationship with his wife - because they've been married for 37 years.

Talk turned to romance when we were chatting to him about his latest film 'The Hitman's Bodyguard'.

In the film, which also stars Ryan Reynolds, he plays a hitman with a heart of gold, who is trying to do everything to protect his imprisoned wife, played by Salma Hayek.

At one point he makes an incredibly bold - and risky - romantic gesture, so we wanted to find out what he finds romantic, and he revealed it's the little things - like resting your head on their shoulder or holding their hand.

In fact he told us he thinks too often people buy things for people, when actually it's about spending time with them.

Samuel and Salma clearly have a wonderful relationship, but we only get to see snippets of it in the movie.

So we asked if they're hoping for a sequel where they can share more screen time - their answer: "Oh yeah, we're already talking about it! We're like, they need to go ahead and do this sequel so we can actually be together, so that people can see the dynamic."

Salma said there were lots of reasons she took on the project, but one was that it was close to home and was a quick shoot.

However, when it came to finishing up she admitted to being "devastated it was over so fast....I did not get enough of her! I hope we get to bring them alive once more".

Watch our chat with the pair of them below - and you can catch The Hitman's Bodyguard in cinemas now.
