Bad news Directioners! If you were hoping for a One Direction reunion any time soon, think again, because Louis Tomlinson has just signed a brand new solo deal with his former mentor Simon Cowell.

Louis has penned an 18-month deal with Simon's record label Syco and he's told a national newspaper he's "been working unbelievably hard" on some new music!

Exciting! 🙌

Louis first dropped his debut solo track 'Just Hold On' back in December 2016 with Steve Aoki.

The rest of the 1D boys including Harry, Niall and Liam have also all released solo singles since the band started their hiatus in January 2016.

Check them all out below:

Speaking about his new deal, Louis told a national newspaper he is extremely happy to be working with Simon Cowell and his team.

He said, "I'm excited to be continuing my relationship with Syco, and also working with the brilliant team at RCA in the US."

He later added, "I've been working really hard in the studio and can't wait to show you what I've been writing. As always, I'd like to thank the fans for their unbelievable support."

Louis first performed his debut solo track live on The X Factor final, just days after losing his mum to cancer.

At the end of his performance he was given a standing ovation with Simon saying, "Louis, what you've just done and the bravery that took - I just respect you so much as an artist and as a person.

"Your mum was so looking forward to tonight and I know she is watching down on you now. She was so proud of you."
