Following the news that Celebrity Big Brother would be returning to our TV screens on the 17th August, more details of the new series have now been released, including this series's theme, ‘Eye of the Storm’. According to Channel 5, 'All of the celebrity names entering the house will have been caught up in their own media storm. And now, the celebrities are once again putting themselves in the public eye and this time they have a lot to prove.'

The new-look neon Celebrity Big Brother eye will launch tonight (18th July) and will give viewers some clues as to what they can expect from this series, which Channel 5 have described as 'fireworks, fun and definitely a few storms'! As well as unveiling the logo, a teaser trailer has also been released, which you can see below.

Emma Willis will be returning to present the show, with Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On the Side also returning with Rylan Clark-Neal, who will be joined by a number of celebrity panellists.

Earlier this week, the start date of the new series of Celebrity Big Brother is rumoured to be the 17th August. According to the Mirror, show bosses at CBB took the decision to move the premiere date back so as not to clash with Love Island, as it premiered last year on 1st August.

The new logo and theme comes after the news that ex-Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas could be set to join the show this year - and could be paid a HUGE fee for the appearance.

The actor, who has recently starred on Australian soap Neighbours, could be set to receive £500,000 for appearing on the next series of Celebrity Big Brother - in stark contrast to the reported lowest-paid star, Andrew Brady, who was paid just £10,000 for his stint in the house last year.

Brendan Cole

Following his sacking from Strictly Come Dancing, bosses are reportedly keen to get Brendan on the show this summer.

The Apprentice star was apparently paid the fee, which was £2,000 lower than Stephen Bear, who appeared on the show a year earlier and was thought to be the lowest-paid housemate at the time.

Celebrity Big Brother first hit our TV screens way back in 2001, with winners including the likes of Mark Owen, Alex Reid, Rylan Clark-Neal, Katie Price, Charlotte Crosby and former Girls Aloud singer Sarah Harding.

The winter edition of the show, which aired in January 2018, saw Shane Jenek (AKA Courtney Act) be crowned the winner.
