The latest series of Celebrity Big Brother kicked off on Channel 5 last night, with an all female cast to celebrate 100 years since women won the right to vote for the very first time.

Emma Willis presented the show as celebrities such as Ann Widdecombe, India Willoughby, Malika Haqq, Maggie Oliver, Ashley James, Jess Impiazzi, Rachel Johnson and Amanda Barrie all entered the famous house.

And whist the show is very female orientated at the moment, a number of male housemates will enter this coming Friday!

In a show first, last night on Big Brother's Bit On The Side with Rylan Clark-Neal, it was announced that former footballer and Liverpool FC legend John Barnes will be the first male to enter this year's series.

John made 314 appearances for Liverpool during his ten year stint at the Merseyside club, scoring an impressive 84 goals. The 54-year-old also achieved 79 caps for England between 1983 and 1995.

With his competitive nature, we can't wait to see how the ladies will take to John's arrival during the live show on Friday night.

Meanwhile, the 21st series started with a live trial last night, with the eight new housemates fighting from immunity in the first eviction. Showing women empowerment, the ladies paired up for the task which involved them fixing a fuse to restore power to the house.

It was Coronation Street legend Amanda Barrie and former Ex On The Beach star Jess Impiazzi who completed the task in the quickest time, meaning they are immune from the vote later in the week.
