Actress Stephanie Davis was a popular cast member on Channel 4 soap Hollyoaks where she played the role of Sinead O'Connor for five years from 2010 to 2015.

So when the new mum revealed on Twitter that she is returning to work for the first time since welcoming her first child, fans were quick to speculate whether she could be making a return to the soap.

Stephanie wrote,' Looking forward to getting back to work💪🏼 Been a long break. Time to get back to what I'm good at! Filming friday 🎥 👀' sic

After many fans asked the question, Stephanie shut down the rumours when she wrote, 'Haha no everyone is saying that. Sinead might pop back to say hi one day. But for now... no, I'm doing other things❤️' sic

And it seems fans of the 24-year-old were left disappointed at her response, with many expressing their thoughts on Twitter...

Stephanie left her role in Hollyoaks in July 2015, with her agent later confirming her contract had been terminated because she arrived on set 'unfit for work'.

Although Hollyoaks has been her biggest acting role to date, Stephanie actually found fame when she appeared on Andrew Lloyd Webber's show Over The Rainbow on BBC in 2010.

The show was looking to find somebody to play Dorothy in the stage production of The Wizard Of Oz, unfortunately Stephanie was eliminated after six weeks on the show.

After being fired from Hollyoaks, Stephanie appeared on Celebrity Big Brother where she got into a relationship with her fellow housemate Jeremy McConnell, despite having a boyfriend on the outside.

After an on/off/on/off romance when they left the house, Stephanie announced she was expecting her first child and welcomed Caben-Albi in January 2017.

It hasn't yet been revealed what project Stephanie is currently working on, but it looks like she won't be returning to the Hollyoaks village any time soon.
