When Christ Evans recorded his CBeebies Bedtime Story he had no clue the whole country would get excited.

But that's what happened when we found out Captain America himself was sitting down to read 'Even Superheroes Have Bad Days' surrounded by teddy bears.

He's the latest in a long list of actors and stars that have read a tale to help little ones get to sleep, but perhaps the most famous to have gone before him is Tom Hardy.

In the past few months Tom's read three stories, with each one leading to social media going crazy, and plenty of people who don't have kids tuning in.

And Chris told us he had absolutely no idea just how popular the show was - and now wishes he'd watched Tom's before:

Here's a sneak peek of Chris' Bedtime Story - the full version will air at 6.50pm on Wednesday 10th May on CBeebies.

Chris was over in the UK to promote his new film 'Gifted', which hits cinemas on the 16th of June.

In the film he plays the uncle and guardian of a seven-year-old who is remarkable at maths. While others want to push her into become a child prodigy, Chris' character Frank just wants her to have a normal childhood , which leads to a custody battle.
