If you're a regular Facebook user you might have noticed a new reaction appear over the last few days, next to the standard options.

Now it is possible to react to a Facebook post with a rainbow flag, but it isn't available as standard, so here's how to get it.

The rainbow flag is available to anyone who likes the Facebook page called LGBTQ@Facebook.

Once you've liked the page, after about five minutes, you'll be able to react to posts with the rainbow flag like it was one of the standard reactions.

This new reaction was set up by Facebook to celebrate LGBT Pride Month as hundreds of Pride celebrations take place around the world.

Posting on the 9th June LGBTQ@Facebook said, 'We believe in building a platform that supports all communities. So we’re celebrating love and diversity this Pride by giving you a special reaction to use during Pride Month.

To access the Pride reaction, like this page.' 🌈🌈🌈

Until last year the only reaction available on Facebook was the thumbs up, 'Like' button, but in February 2016 six reactions, like, love, haha, wow, sad and angry were added, with some special occasion reactions, such as a flower for Mother's Day.

While requests for a 'Dislike' button on Facebook have been around for years the company decided not to introduce 'Dislike' as it would convey too much negativity.
