Google's top trending searches of 2017 have been revealed

Last year was a big year for showbiz, technology and TV. We saw huge celebrities like Beyoncé and Cheryl give birth, a royal wedding being announced between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, and we had countless pregnancies and rumours of pregnancies in the Kardashian/Jenner clan.

So, it's no surprise that many of these very popular people showed up in the top Google searches from 2017, however there are also a number of big topics that proved very popular last year, including Apple's iPhones (8 and X), the new Netflix series 13 Reasons Why, and the fidget spinner!

Bride-to-be Meghan Markle topped the Top Trending category, as well as being the most searched for person in the UK last year.

And although the Kardashians are ever-popular, they weren't in the top 10. However, when it came Kanye vs Kardashian, the word 'Kardashian' had 875,000 searches in 2017 compared to a massive 2,515,000 searches for 'Kanye'.
