Hidden 'Easter eggs' in Google, IMDB and more

Did you know that you can do a 'barrel roll' on Google, or find a games console IN Call of Duty? These 'techie' or 'geek' Easter eggs are hidden goodies on websites or in computer games.
Here are some of the best, from the Konami Code which gives funny responses from Alexa and Siri, to the Google Gravity Easter egg which makes everything fall to the bottom of the screen.
IMDB
Ever heard of the saying turn it 'up to 11'? That saying was coined in the mockumentary This Is Spinal Tap, a comedy film about a fictitious rock band unsurprisingly called Spinal Tap.
Usually amps are turned up to the maximum '10' but in the film one of the guitarists turns his amp up to '11'.
If you search for This Is Spinal Tap on IMDB then you'll see a subtle Easter egg if you check out the rating.
KONAMI CODE
For those who don't know, the Konami code has been used for years in video games and now on some websites.
It's an easy code to remember 'up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, b, a'. Use the arrow keys for up, down, left and right. Using this code will unlock some colourful fun on www.buzzfeed.co.uk
Read the Konami code to Alexa and she'll reply, "Super Alexa mode: Activated. Starting reactors: Online. Enabling advanced systems: Online. Raising dongers. Error: Dongers missing. Aborting..."
In a similar way, tell Apple's Siri the Konami code and it will reply with things such as, 'I'm getting dizzy', 'Nerd' and 'Cheater'!
ONLINE COMPUTER GAMES
Call of Duty
One of the most popular computer games around is the Call of Duty franchise, and there are several Easter eggs hidden in many of the games. In Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, released late last year, players can find an Activision games console in the ruins of a London electronics shop.
The 'Actibase' comes complete with a wireless controller, HDMI and AC power cables!

Google In 1998
Get Google to display as it did in 1998 by searching for 'google in 1998'. Easy as that!
Google Gravity
Using the 'I'm feeling lucky' option on Google you can see the effects of Google Gravity. Follow the step-by-step instructions in the video below and your Google search screen will fall to the bottom!
Type in ‘Do a barrel roll’
Another bit of fun you can have with Google is 'Do a barrel roll'. It won't make your life any easier… but it is fun. Have a look at how to do that, and a few other tricks.
Now take a look at other tricks you probably didn't know Google could do:
1. Currency converter
Google has a quick and accurate tool to help you convert your currency at the current rate. Just type in the amount and currencies you want to convert too and from.
2. Search Google with an image
This is really useful if you have found an image of something you want to make (a meal or a craft project) but you don't know the name of it. You can just copy the image URL into the image search bar and Google will find it for you.
3. Unit converter
Struggling with metric to imperial? Google will work it out. This is really useful for converting many other things too including; speed, temperature, digital storage and time.
4. Translate to a different language
With loads of different languages to choose from, Google Translate is a great tool to connect you with the world.
5. Become an explorer
With Google Earth, you have the freedom to explore our planet, travel back in time and even visit other planets!
6. Google's 3D animals
You can now view some animals in 3D. In order to view the animals in your own home, Google the name of an animal such as alligator, or horse.
When the search results display, it will say 'View in 3D'. Using your phone, tap on that icon and you'll be able to see the animal in your surroundings!
7. Flight status information
This is handy when you are going away (or waiting to collect someone from the airport.) Pop the flight number into Google and it will bring up the expected arrival time and gate information.
8. Find your phone
If you have misplaced your phone and GPS is enabled, you can use Google to find it. There is even the option to ring your phone for 5 minutes to help you locate it.
9. Traffic alerts
By downloading the Google Now app to your smartphone, you can find out the best route to your destination with live traffic updates along the way.
10. Timer
If you only have 5 minutes to spend catching up with the latest blog posts, then Google's timer will act as an alarm.
11. Askew
There's no real need for this, but if you type in 'Askew' to Google it will tilt the search results.
