For a number of weeks during lockdown Sophie Ellis-Bextor kept our spirits up by live streaming her Kitchen Disco, so Hits Radio Pride presenter Jordan just had to find out more about how it came about.

The 'Murder On The Dancefloor' singer, in a true 2020 style, joined us from the back of a car, where she was wearing a face mask and told Jordan that the idea came from her husband Richard.

Explaining they both felt a bit "discombobulated" after the lockdown was announced and everything was cancelled, Sophie went on to say that Richard suggested the idea of live streaming a show. And in the end it was a really great way to "communicate" with friends, family and fans. In the end, Sophie's Kitchen Discos were so successful that they continued for 10 weeks.

If that wasn't enough, Sophie will now been releasing an album of some of the tracks she sang for her Kitchen Disco live streams including, her 2000 hit with Spiller, 'Groovejet' and her debut hit, 'Take Me Home'.

Sophie will also be returning next year with not one, but two tours! The first tour will see her performing around the country in May, before returning to the road to support Steps on their 'What The Future Holds' tour which they recently announced.
