Popular Netflix show Heartstopper had us all hooked when it landed on the streaming platform last year. Now, with TWO more seasons on the way, and season two has finally arrived with eight brand new episodes!

Thibault de Montalembert joins the show as Stephane, Nick's father.

Netflix shared the trailer in July, which showed a few short clips from the new series, including a glimpse of the Eiffel Tower, and Nick and Charlie being more open about their relationship.

In the season two poster, also shared by Netflix, the pair can be seen walking away from the iconic Parisian monument, as their friends can be seen in the background.

The release followed a clip which was released in June, along with the episode titles. At the time, Netflix told fans: 'Take an exclusive look at the first scene of the upcoming second season of Heartstopper.'

The video is introduced by Corinna Brown and Kizzy Edgell, who play Tara and Darcy in the series. In the scene, fans get to see Charlie waking up with a grin on his face as he sees a message from his boyfriend, Nick.

The compilation of clips then show Charlie messaging him as he grabs some breakfast and gets the bus to school. When he finally arrives at the classroom he can't see Nick, but Nick surprises him from behind.

Speaking about the series, executive producer Patrick Walkers said: “Continuing the story of Nick, Charlie and the rest of the Heartstopper gang for season two has been an absolute privilege. Alice Oseman and I have been able to watch the actors evolve their performances in every way, and this season is so emotional because of their amazing work. Get ready!”

In the teaser clip, starring cast can be heard teasing what is to come in the upcoming second season. Yasmin Finney, who plays Elle, says: "There's so many things happen with Elle this season that you're not ready for.

"I would say Elle is different in the sense she's more confident. She surrounds herself with people that elevate her."

Describing the scripts as "amazing", Kit Connor, who plays Nick, also reveals that season two feels "cool and fresh" and "just a different vibe to season one".

On top of that, Joe Locke, who plays Charlie, reveals: "Charlie goes on more of a journey. His story's a bit more mature."

In December 2022, Netflix and the official Heartstopper account shared a photo of the show's creator Alice Oseman, along with two of the lead actors Kit Connor (Nick) and Joe Locke (Charlie), confirming that season 2 of the show had wrapped!

Captioning their photo: 'And that's a wrap on Heartstopper Season 2… à bientôt! 🍂', the post attracted a lot of attention from fans, with one writing: 'Super excited... so can't wait for S2. 😍💖 ~ Meanwhile I keep binge watching S1 on repeat. 🥰🍂', while another wrote: 'Okay now we need release date!!! :D'.

Last year, we caught up with Kit and Joe and got them to answer some fan questions. Kit, who plays the role of bisexual teenager Nick Nelson, said that the character was an "extremely special character" to him. He went on to say: "I think there's not enough bisexual representation in mainstream media, or really any kind of media.

Joe also revealed at the 2022 BAFTAs that his ideal casting for season two of Heartstopper would be, however this has not been confirmed!

Who stars in season 2 of Heartstopper?

Heartstopper season 2 will see Kit Connor and Joe Locke, reprise their roles as Nick and Charlie, along with returning cast Yasmin Finney (Elle), William Gao (Tao Xu), Corinna Brown, Kizzy Edgell, Sebastian Croft, Tobie Donovan, Rhea Norwood, Cormac Hyde-Corrin and Jenny Walser.

New cast members include Bel Priestley and Ash Self, as Elle's new friends Naomi and Felix, along with Thibault de Montalembert as Stephane, Nick’s dad.

The follow-up to the hugely popular Korean-language series Squid Game will return in 2023. This series will see a group of people left in a paradise location, given a key card for a dream villa, however only half of the keys will work.


The only way to get inside the villa is to be the winner of a daily survival challenge. However, with every person that goes into the villa someone else must leave, and only the people in the villa have the chance to win a huge cash prize.

Our Planet II is from the same award-winning team as Planet Earth and Our Planet. This series captures the animals on our planet, telling their dramatic and compelling stories.

Heartstopper series 2

Heartstopper was a huge hit when it was added to Netflix in April 2022, and in 2023 it will return for second series, along with a third series at a later date. The first series introduced Charlie and Nick, along with their circle of friends, who met at school.


Although not much is known about the next series, it will see Kit Connor, Joe Locke, Yasmin Finney and William Gao reprise their roles.

This Bridgerton-verse prequel tells the story of how the young Queen marries King George. Queen Charlotte stars Golda Rosheuvel in the title role and also features Bridgerton's Hugh Sachs.
