Two teenagers have been arrested on suspicion of arson after a fire at a disused school in Birmingham.

Police are appealing for information following the blaze on Clifton Road, Balsall Heath on Monday (22 April).

Officers were called after fire had broken out shortly before 1pm.

West Midlands Fire Service attended and a nearby school was safely evacuated while crews dealt with the fire.

At this stage, no one is believed to have been injured. Officers remained at the scene with fire crews who still continue to assess the damage and make the site secure.

Enquiries are continuing to establish the cause of the fire but officers suspect it may have been started deliberately.

Two 16-year-old boys were arrested yesterday evening on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and have been released on bail.
