Weymouth Carnival 2024 called off
Organisers say they don't have the approvals or the funding
Weymouth Carnival will not be making a come back this summer after all.
The organisers have broken the news this morning on their social media pages.
They say it's due to not getting the necessary approvals or funding.
Instead they're working on an alternative even for this August.
A spokesperson for Weymouth Carnival said:
"We appreciate all the support so far and we will continue to engage with the local council, local businesses and communities in Weymouth to BRING BACK the CARNIVAL.
"All donations we have raised will be carried forward to the future events.
"All stall holders will be contacted soon for a FULL REFUND.
"The organisation including the dance and set company will continue to operate as normal."
