Two teenagers have pleaded guilty to burglary in Devizes.

The 16-year-olds, who can't be named for legal reasons, have been remanded in custody following the incident earlier this month - which saw them steal a car before crashing it into a nearby house.

One of the 16-year-old boys pleaded guilty to burglary.

A second 16-year-old boy, who also can’t be named, has pleaded guilty to burglary, dangerous driving and driving without a licence or insurance.

They both appeared at Swindon Youth Court yesterday (16/01) following the incident at around 3.20am on January 10th.

CCI Bianca Ledbury from the Burglary Unit at Wiltshire Police said: "This investigation was able to progress quickly due to the combined efforts of several departments, working together to enable the swift arrest of the offenders who had burgled the victims property, stealing his car keys and his car, driving it dangerously before crashing into a nearby property causing damage.

"This could have been a very different story had it been a different time of day. Thankfully no one was hurt during this incident.

"Burglary is one of the most invasive crimes with a lasting effect upon those targeted. These offenders are prolific and have caused widespread disruption in their Local area, as a result of their actions they will face sentencing on 6th February 2024."

They'll be sentenced on February 6th.
