MTV announced today that London will be hosting this year's MTV EMAs.

The annual music award ceremony has been hosted in various cities across Europe since its beginning in over two decades ago.

This will be the sixth time the MTV EMAs have been hosted in the UK with them first held in London in 1996, followed by Edinburgh (2003), Liverpool (2008), Belfast (2011) and Glasgow (2014).

Last year's show was hosted by singer Bebe Rexha in Rotterdam and saw Justin Bieber pick up three awards including Best Song for 'Sorry'.

No acts have been announced yet, but if 2016's show is anything to go by we are in for a treat. Last year's live performances included Kings of Leon, DNCE, Zara Larsson and Lukas Graham.

The MTV EMAs 2017 will take place on Sunday 12th November at The SSE Arena, Wembley.
