Cameron Diaz reveals her first thoughts when she met now husband Benji Madden
The pair enjoy a private relationship
Cameron Diaz has spoken about her husband Benji Madden revealing she “just knew” he was the one.
The actress confessed she now understands why people say ‘you just know when you know’ after meeting the singer. Cameron said “It was one of those things where everyone tells you, ‘You just know when you know’. I was like, ‘What does that mean? Oh, I get it. You just know when you know. Like you’re my husband.”
The Other Woman star also revealed the pair didn’t cross paths despite already knowing Benji’s brother Joel Madden and his sister-in-law Nicole Richie.

Cameron revealed the first thing she thought when she set eyes on her now husband was 'He’s hot’. She went on to add, “How come I didn’t know this before? We had never been in the same circle… You know, nothing matters now that I have my husband. Like, I don’t even remember any of that.
“That’s the thing, that’s how I know he’s my husband…No one compares. Everything else just washes and slips away. You realise this is what real love is. This is what real commitment and devotion is. This is the person you build your life with.”
The 43-year-old met the Good Charlotte guitarist when she hosted a dinner party for his family, immediately hitting it off with him.
After a whirlwind romance the pair officially tied the knot in a very intimate ceremony in January at their Beverley Hills home.
The actress has now opened up about her big day saying “We got married in our living room in front of our friends. Had a little party in our backyard on the tennis court and yeah”.
Reports suggest the couple would now like to start a family together.
