After four weeks of mayhem and relentless arguments, James Hill was last night crowned the winner of Celebrity Big Brother.

The 27-year-old, who first came into the public eye on The Apprentice in 2014, triumphed ahead of his good friend and bed sharer Austin Armacost.

It was a closely fought battle in the end with James securing less than 2% more votes than his argumentative best friend.

Speaking to Emma Willis after his win, James said: “I never expected it, ever! I've no idea why the public have picked me, but I've tried to put others first and just have a great time in the house.”

Enthusing about Austin, James added: “You don't go in to make friends, but you do naturally.

“I got close to some people who hopefully I'll be friends for the rest of my life with. I'm a loner, but to have someone in the house to lean on was so special

“I hope we'll have a great friendship. What a man, he's got a massive heart.”

Atomic Kitten star Natasha Hamilton came third and was followed closely behind by British funnyman Bobby Davro.

X Factor singers and couple Stevi Ritchie and Chloe-Jasmine Whichello came fifth with ex-Coronation Street actress Sherrie Hewson coming sixth.

A series that was packed with drama inside the house, it was somewhat surprisingly spin-off show Bit on the Side that provided the biggest story of the year.

Fiery contestant Farrah Abraham got into a full-blown fight with former Big Brother contestant Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace resulting in Allo Allo actress getting injured in the crossfire.
