Emmerdale actress Charley Webb has asked her fans for advice after she revealed her two-year-old son Bowie has separation anxiety when she drops him off at nursery.

Charley, who plays the role of Debbie Dingle in the ITV soap, opened up to her followers on Twitter writing, 'Bowie started nursery about 4 weeks ago. One afternoon a week and he is hysterical everytime I leave him there. Screaming, crying, hitting. Anyone else had this? Please tell me it gets better🤦🏼‍♀️' sic

As fans and friends of the actress were quick to give Charley suggestions, the mum-of-two later revealed her son has separation anxiety during a conversation with former Coronation Street actress Paula Lane.

Paula, who welcomed baby Penny in 2016, wrote, 'Promise it does! Penny just does one day and it takes a little longer to settle that’s all xx'. sic

Charley later replied to Paula adding, 'Buster was never bothered. Bowies got full separation anxiety. Praying he grows out of it. Hope you're well babe. Xxxxx' sic

The actress was then flooded with messages of support and advice from her followers, with many admitting they are going through the same situation with their own children.

Charley then told her fans the nursery Bowie is currently attending suggested her son goes for more than one day. She wrote, 'Thanks everyone for your advice. Nursery suggested upping it to two mornings, it's just when I work so much I want to spend that time with him if I'm off. I might go for 2, I'll see how the next few weeks go💪🏼'. sic

According to the NHS, separation anxiety is common in young children between the ages of six months and three years, with many quickly growing out of it. It causes babies and toddlers to get clingy and start crying when their parents or carers leave them with others.

Charley welcomed Bowie into the world with her husband and Emmerdale co-star Matthew Wolfenden back in 2016. The couple also share another son, seven-year-old Buster.

The happy couple, who met on the set of Emmerdale way back in 2007, tied the knot in a secret ceremony early this year.

Telling their guests they were attending Charley's 30th birthday party, the event turned out to be their wedding day!

Speaking about the surprise element, Matthew said, "We couldn’t have had a better response. People just screamed for about ten minutes! It’s funny to think that our guests thought they were coming to Charley’s 30th party – then we told them it was our wedding! It wasn’t the most traditional wedding, but we wanted it to be different."
