It’s been eight whole years since the last instalment of High School Musical hit our screens, and now creators Disney have confirmed plans for a fourth movie.

The announcement comes just weeks after the original cast reunited to mark 10-years since the first film gripped the world, where they looked almost unrecognisable from their East High days.

After the reunion fans of the film were quick to speculate about a potential new chapter and it seems they have their wish.

In an official statement from Disney Channel’s president Gary Marsh, the exciting news reads “High School Musical is part of Disney Channel’s DNA. It embodies all that we stand for.”

He then went on to confirm a new film by saying “As a way of continuing to embrace that heritage, we’re excited to announce the start of something new. We launch a search for a new class of East High Wildcats to star in a fourth instalment of the High School Musical franchise.”

No official release has been confirmed yet, so we can only hope it’s sooner rather than later.

All together now ....
