Foo Fighters have announced they’re headlining Glastonbury 2015!

Dave Grohl made the revelation via video message at last night’s NME Awards where the Foos were crowned Best International Band.

He said: "We're very thankful and very happy - sorry we couldn't make it tonight, but we will be seeing you over the summer at some big outdoor festival that nobody knows we're playing. It's Glastonbury.

"So we'll see you at Glastonbury - thanks a lot everybody."

Immediately afterwards, Glastonbury confirmed that the band will top the world famous Pyramid Stage on the Friday night. It will be their first performance at the festival since 1998.

Glasto organiser Emily Eavis said: “We feel incredibly lucky to have confirmed the Foo Fighters for the Pyramid Stage at Glastonbury this year.

“Very few bands have the power to unite and energise a crowd like Foo Fighters do. We can’t wait for them to rock Worthy Farm on Friday night.”

Glastonbury sold out within two hours when tickets went on sale last October. There will be a resale of any cancelled tickets when the balance payment window ends in April.

Last year’s Glastonbury was headlined by Metallica, Arcade Fire and Kasabian.
