EXCLUSIVE: Gemma Atkinson reveals she's dropping marriage hints to Gorka Marquéz

She also opened up about the inspiration for her baby's name

Our very own Gemma Atkinson is taking time off from the Hits Radio Breakfast show after giving birth to her daughter earlier this month! Welcoming their baby on 4th July 2019, Gemma and Gorka are now parents to little Mia Louise, with Gemma sharing a stunning photo of her daughter on Instagram.

Captioning the photo with Mia's full name, 'Mia Louise Marquez', the photo has received over 350,000 likes as well as floods of congratulatory messages from fans and celebrities alike.

Today, Gemma spoke to the brand new Breakfast team - Fleur East, Greg and James - Gemma revealed that they'd taken inspiration from Gorka's Spanish heritage for the baby's name, "It means 'mine' in Spanish. It's a name that's quite popular in England but it comes from Spain so we've got a bit of both in there."

Adding that they went to officially register their daughter yesterday, Gemma said, "You get them registered. Yeah it was quite sad because until then apparently they officially take the mum's name but once registered she's an official Marquez. And I'm the only one now who's not a Marquez in the family."

Country star Carrie Underwood welcomed her second child with her husband Mike Fisher in January. They had a baby boy called Jacob Bryan Fisher.

Never missing a trick, Greg picked up on the fact that Gemma was possibly hinting towards a proposal from the Strictly Come Dancing star, "I said to him, 'You do know now we need to get married otherwise I'm not part of the family'. He's like 'Yeah we have time, it's OK'."

A wedding could definitely be on the cards!

After James asked whether it's true that mothers sometimes get a rush of love for their baby, Gemma said, "It's crazy. Everyone said to me you'll not love anything more than this child and I kept saying all along if she's allergic to dogs she'll have to live with my mum! As soon as I saw her it just changed.

"But there's just one little niggle that's annoying me. Everyone who comes to see us says 'Oh my God she's beautiful, isn't she like her dad?' And I look at them and go 'yeah even though I carried her for nine months and all this and she looks like him'."
