George Shelley calls Union J 'jealous' as he's 'kicked out' of the band

The boys are unhappy with George's commitment

George Shelley has sensationally been kicked out of boyband Union J after his fellow bandmates claimed he had a ‘lack of commitment.’

JJ Hamblett, Jaymi Hemsley and Josh Cuthbert have reportedly had enough of George’s behaviour since his recent solo success and gave George a final ultimatum before making the tough decision.

In a recent interview Josh said “I wrote a really strong email. We basically gave him an ultimatum. It was, You’re either in the band or you’re not.”

Since appearing on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, George has enjoyed success recently with various presenting roles and TV appearances, leaving him with little time for Union J commitments.

After the story broke, the 22-year-old's spokesperson released the following statement: “He is an utterly charming and hardworking individual- not a diva in the slightest. The fact of the matter is that the other members of Union J are simply jealous he has achieved the start of an exciting new career and they have not. George had agreed to be totally magnanimous towards them, but unfortunately this has not been reciprocated.”

The remaining Union J members are yet to respond, however JJ Hamlett's girlfriend Caterina Lopez (cousin of Jennifer Lopez) posted this message on Twitter:

This brings the end of a successful career for Union J with George in the band. They first rose to fame in 2012 when George was added to the trio on The X Factor, where they went on to finish fourth. The boys have enjoyed great success over the last few years with sell out tours, intimate gigs and popular hits including ‘Carry You’ and ‘You Got It All’.

Don’t worry though! The band claim they are looking for George’s replacement so it won’t be the end of Union J. – Yay!

However, some fans didn’t seem happy with the decision with one user claiming they will never be able to replace George.

The news comes just weeks after George bravely discussed his sexuality in a heartfelt video where he claimed “I’ve had girlfriends that I’ve loved, but I’ve also had boyfriends”.

What do you think? Is Mr Shelley replaceable?
