Former Union J singer George Shelley has broken his silence on social media following his sister Harriet's tragic death last week.

21-year-old Harriet sadly passed away after suffering serious head injuries after being hit by a car in Bristol.

Despite being treated in intensive care at Southmead Hospital Bristol, Harriet sadly passed away following the result of her injuries.

Now George has paid an emotional tribute to his 'angel' sister in a heartfelt post on his Instagram page.

Sharing a photo of himself kissing Harriet on the cheek, George emotionally wrote, 'I will never accept that you're gone. You will always be with me. My best friend, my sister, my angel. Too pure and too beautiful to walk among humans, you now exist somewhere else, and I am honoured to have had the privilege to spend 21 years with you by my side. Don't get used to it up there without me, I'll see you soon beautiful girl. I love you Harriet.'

Fans of the former I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here contestant were quick to send their love to George.

After the tragic incident last week, Harriet's mum Toni had praised hospital staff who looked after her daughter.

She said, ''Everybody at Southmead Hospital has been amazing, they have been working 24/7 to make sure she is alright.

"Everybody across different religions in Clevedon and Bristol have been so amazing - they have been praying for our daughter and holding church services."

Our thoughts go out to George and his family at this difficult time.
