Hollywood's most overpaid actors have been revealed

There's only one female in the top 10.

For the second year in a row Johnny Depp has been announced as the most overpaid actor in Hollywood by Forbes.

The list is compiled by looking at the past three major films the actor has been in, then deducting the estimated production budget from the global box office for each film.

Using this formula Johnny Depp, comes out top of the table - where you want to be bottom. His film Alice Through the Looking Glass, bombed at the box office and grossed just $300 million on a $170 million budget.

Therefore Jonny's box office return per $1 was just $2.80.

The only female in the list was Julia Roberts, who found her way there with modest performances in Money Monster and Mother’s Day. Whilst her actual pay was a lot less than the men on the list the return ratio was particularly bad, meaning she ended up ninth on the list.

One surprising addition to the list is Academy Award winner Leonardo di Caprio whose recent films have been very successful, but because of his high pay the ratio lands him a place in the list. The two most recent films Leonardo has starred in, The Wolf of Wall Street and The Revenant both earned him Best Actor nods in the Oscars with The Revenant grossing a massive $533 million on a $135 million budget.
